Recipient of the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award in 2007 and named one of the best 100 hotels in Latin America by a leading magazine in 2005, the low-rise buildings of Fairmont Pierre Marques sit among lush foliage, the Sierra Madre Mountains and tropical surroundings. With views so beautiful, this resort is popular for romantic wedding ceremonies.
Tucked between the Sierra Madre Mountains and the Pacific surf, the 480-acre estate is set in the middle of paradise, but with all the entertainment of a city. The beach resort has tennis courts and a 36-hole championship golf course on site, as well as pools, water activities and a children’s activity center. The resort has three swimming pools overlooking the beach.
Land sports include five tennis courts, a basketball court, fitness room (for a fee), and the beach volleyball court. Kids can enjoy daily supervised programs, which include miniature golf, basketball, soccer, painting lessons, water polo and water volleyball. Recreational activities nearby include aerobics, horseback riding, parasailing, a running track, sailing, snorkeling, surfing, boogie boarding and even whale watching.
Dining options here are plentiful. This includes Tabachin, which hosted famous guests like John F. Kennedy and Elizabeth Taylor. Open for dinner, Tabachin offers contemporary Mexican cuisine in an elegant setting. The restaurant’s tequila bar offers more than 100 different varieties of agave-based drinks. Terraza Buffet Restaurant & Bar is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving international cuisine in a beautiful yet casual setting. With seating on a large terrace, guests can admire views of the ocean. Open 24 hours, Pierre’s Café and Delicatessen offers coffee, pastries, deli specialties, salads and ice cream. Pierre’s also sells souvenirs, gourmet cooking ingredients and Mexican handcrafts.
For nightly entertainment, Bar Pierre is like three bars rolled into one: one room has a large screen TV and beer on tap, another area is a relaxed lounge where guests can sip on martinis and the third area is an outdoor verandah for those wanting fresh air and a tropical cocktail. Snacks are available during the day.
