Located in Cancun's city center, the four-story Hotel Batab offers guests basic, budget-friendly accommodations that are fairly close to the popular tourist zone.

The property, a large white hotel with access from the interior only, contains 68 guest rooms, all of which are decorated in a colorful Caribbean style. Each one features two double beds, air conditioning, a cable television, a telephone and a private bathroom. Some rooms also include a private balcony. Daily maid service is standard, and guests can request a rollaway bed for children from the front desk.

Hotel Batab has one restaurant on the premises, Lol-Ha, which serves Mexican fare as well as Arabic specialties. At breakfast, guests can select from an à la carte menu featuring pastries, seasonal fresh fruit and coffee, among other things, or choose the American or continental breakfast. Lunch and dinner menus include nightly specials as well as specialty cocktails.

This economy hotel boasts meeting facilities for 120 people, as well as a staffed travel agency, a car rental counter, laundry services and baybsitting, all for an additional charge. Wireless internet access is also available in the common areas.

Hotel Batab is approximately 30 minutes from the Cancun International Airport and just a few blocks from the nearest bus station, making excursions to Tulum, Playa del Carmen or other spots along the Riviera Maya convenient.

Though this is not a beachfront hotel, popular Cancun beaches are a few minutes away, as are popular outdoor activities including snorkeling, wave runner rentals, sailing, water skiing, parasailing and golfing. On-site concierge service is available to help guests coordinate day trips or answer questions.

Art galleries, restaurants, nightclubs, markets and shopping centers are convenient to the hotel, some within walking distance, while others require a short bus or cab ride. The Hotel Zone, the most popular area of Cancun among tourists, also contains a lot of entertainment and eating options and is approximately five miles from the Hotel Batab. The front desk, which is staffed around the clock, can call a taxi any time of day to help guests get around the city.
