Compared to other popular destinations along Mexico's coasts, Ixtapa is a smaller resort town, and its eating options reflect that fact. The area can claim a couple of tourist-centric chains, such as Carlos n' Charlie's and Senor Frog's, though the appeal of these establishments is generally around the animated atmosphere and less about the American menu.
Though many hotels offer all-inclusive plans, visitors often want to experience the local cuisine and specialties, as well as international fare. A number of restaurants are spread throughout the Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo area, offering variety in both the types of dishes offered and the price points guests can expect to pay.
