Tourists visiting Ixtapa can stay in the Dorado Pacifico Beach Resort to take advantage of its oceanfront location, Olympic-size pool and convenient on-site restaurants.

The hotel houses 285 rooms, all of which open onto a sun-filled, 11-story atrium. Standard guest room features include air conditioning, a private balcony with an ocean view, a table and two chairs, a minibar, an in-room safety deposit box and a satellite television. The Club Dorado rooms feature an upgrade to a large flat-screen LCD television and an alarm clock compatible with iPods, iPhones and MP3 players. Junior suites provide guests with more space as well as with robes, a telephone in the bathroom and a second balcony. All rooms vary on bed sizes.

The Dorado Pacifico Beach Resort boasts a grand Olympic-size swimming pool on the property, along with two water slides and an adjacent children's pool. A swim-up bar caters to guests and water sports like volleyball and team games are fun options. Two lit hard-surface tennis courts are also on the hotel grounds and a tennis instructor is available for lessons for an additional fee.

Guests can walk just a few feet from the hotel to the sandy beach, where the hotel concession is outfitted with snorkeling, parasailing and windsurfing equipment. The Dorado Pacifico Beach Resort contains four on-site restaurants, as well as the Sunset Snack Bar, which offers quick bites throughout the day. La Cascada Café, a casual, sunny spot with both indoor and outdoor seating, serves a buffet breakfast each morning, followed by à la carte menus for lunch and dinner. Coco La Palm is a poolside open-air restaurant that serves regional and international cuisine for lunch and dinner, as well as offers a full bar. Guests can enjoy a romantic dinner on the beach, thanks to Terraza del Mar, which features an international menu including fresh seafood. In the late afternoons, the Galeria Piano Bar in the lobby opens to serve guests beverages. Live music is also featured here most evenings from December through April and July through August.
