Acclaimed by a leading architectural magazine for its innovative design, Hotel Finisterra sits on a hill at the top of the Baja peninsula in Cabo San Lucas.

Located 1,000 miles south of the San Diego border, the hotel boasts amazing views and seclusion, yet it is easily accessible to and from the center of town and only 35 minutes from the airport.

A hotel ideal for couples, lovebirds can enjoy daily activities together like cooking, bartending and Spanish classes on site. In addition, the breathtaking views of the water and overall ambience of the hotel make this the perfect getaway.

Upon arrival, guests receive a complimentary cocktail. Rooms are available in either the original cliff side Finisterra Section built in 1971 or in the 9-story Palapa Beach Club tower. The buildings are connected by an aerial walkway. The cliff side guestrooms offer balconies with city or ocean views. The suites offer dual patios and wet bars.

Offering panoramic views, Blue Marlin restaurant serves a full menu of delicacies amid stained-glass window panels and glass sculptures. Diners can also enjoy buffet and à la carte breakfasts and a dinner menu featuring international dishes along with themed dinner nights with Italian, Mexican or barbecue dinner. The beachfront La Palapa restaurant offers a swim-up bar, food and bar service during various parts of the day. Featuring two different atmospheres within one area, the Whale Watcher Bar offers a terrace with breathtaking ocean views, as well as a fireplace and leather chairs.

Three free-form pools, seven spa tubs, free supervised kids' and family activities make the stay here enjoyable for all ages. The lower-level complex offers a shallow end for kids and four spa tubs. The mid-level complex includes a pool with a swim-up bar and two spa tubs. And finally, the upper-level complex features a non-heated pool and another spa tub. Before taking a dip in one of the swimming pools, guests can work up a sweat with a game of volleyball, available on site.  

Due to strong undertows, the beach outside the hotel is dangerous for swimming. However, safe swimming and water sports are available at Médano Beach on the Sea of Cortés is only 1.5 miles away. Recreational activities include fishing, parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, surfing, boogie boarding and water skiing. A golf course and bike rentals are also available near the hotel.

The hotel can help guests arrange day trips to Santiago, Todos Santos and La Paz, boat cruises, deep sea fishing, tennis matches or a round of golf at any of the area's courses.
