Description

If you're looking for a romantic escape, the El Dorado Casitas Royale is it. This resort is designed especially for adults (aged 16 and older) and located just 25 minutes south of Cancun in the heart of the Riviera Maya. It's built on 450 acres of tropical jungle that runs along a mile of shoreline on the Caribbean Sea. What's wonderful is that the El Dorado Casitas Royale is away from everything, but still near it all.

The resort features a series of "casitas," which are small houses. They all have palapa roofs and are surrounded by a lazy river, which flows into several of the main swimming pools. In addition to stunning views of the Caribbean Sea, each casita has a patio or balcony that comes with an exterior double bed. Some even have private infinity pools. Another unique amenity found in each casita is a roofless shower. If you bathe at night, you can look up and see the stars and moon.

Upon arrival guests are greeted with a glass of sparkling wine. It's part of the El Dorado Casitas Royale's signature "Gourmet Inclusive" package. A twist on the typical all-inclusive plan, this phrase gives a nod to the resort's fine restaurants.

Guests can dine at any of eight world-class eateries and get smaller bites from three "gourmet corners" -- La Cabaña Pizzeria, Healthy Corner and Rincón Mexicano. Among the restaurants are the elegant Coctal room, D'Italia for contemporary Italian fare, D'Italia Casitas for traditional Italian food and Kampai for Pacific Rim cuisine. La Isla serves Mediterranean dishes under an open-air palapa.
