Standard Room

The room comes with one king or two double beds. There's a furnished balcony with a garden view. The décor features white walls with accents of soft colors. Other amenities include tiled floors, a ceiling fan, a satellite TV and a minibar with diet and regular soda, mineral water and beer.

The spacious bathroom has a shower only.

The all-inclusive plan includes:

  • All daily meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks.
  • Unlimited domestic beer, domestic and international wine, soft drinks and cocktails from 11 a.m.-2 a.m., with waiter service available in the pool and beach areas.
  • 24-hour room service.
  • Use of two tennis courts and equipment.

Description

The modern Sandos Playacar Beach Resort & Spa features several two- and four-story hotel buildings that have peach stucco walls with Spanish tile roofs surrounding a central courtyard. A casual, tropical atmosphere fills the space, while small Mayan ruins on the grounds offset the modern lines and sensibilities of the resort.

Boasting several rows of palapas for shade, the pristine beach offers a long stretch of white sand for families to play in and explore. Guests can also swim in one of the many pools on the grounds. Focused around a large freeform pool in the main courtyard, there are seven swimming pools, including an adults-only pool, a children's pool and two Select Club pools with restricted access.

All meals are included in the room price, with the allotment of specialty restaurant dinner reservations determined by the number of nights you stay at the resort. Guests in Select Club rooms have additional benefits and privileges.

The Grand Buffet Festival, served overlooking the sea, features breakfast, lunch and dinner and includes a station with kid-friendly menu items. In addition, the Italian-themed buffet at Il Piemonte offers pizzas, pastas, cheeses and salads.

Elegant and sophisticated, Le Gourmet has a French menu. El Gaucho Steakhouse prepares a variety of cuts including New York ribeye, top sirloin and T-bone accompanied by potatoes, salads and an array of vegetables. Asiana serves up an Asian fusion menu. Fogo de Janeiro offers Brazilian dishes, while Iztapalapa serves Mediterranean and seafood favorites in a restaurant overlooking the beach.

Nightly entertainment includes a cabaret show and themed events. Guests can also enjoy cocktails at the resort's restaurants and bars, visit the disco or head out to explore the nightlife in downtown Playa del Carmen or Cancun.

All-inclusive activities include use of the tennis courts, nonmotorized watercraft like kayaks and windsurfing boards and the fitness center. For an additional fee, guests can play golf, go on a sport-fishing excursion, tour Mayan ruins, visit nearby theme parks or scuba dive.

The spa offers a full range of services including massages, hydrotherapy, facials, body wraps, Thalasso therapy and body electrotherapy. Beauty services include specialized hand, nail and foot treatments. The large 3,700-square-foot fitness center offers cardio and strength-training equipment from Life Fitness. Spinning classes are held twice daily.
